Respitose® ML001
Milled Lactose(Inhalation)
Milled inhalation lactose is a highly consistent crystalline lactose with irregular-shaped particles and cohesive flow properties. Lactose is mechanically milled to varying degrees of particle size. This will allow pharmaceutical companies to choose the best grade fitting their formulation needs.
Milled lactose grades consist of irregular shaped particles with a controlled particle size. Milled lactose typically has a broad particle size distribution, with lower median particle size than sieved lactose. Due to its fine nature and relatively high surface area, the flow of milled lactose is classified as cohesive to very cohesive.

Lactohale® 400
Milled Lactose(Inhalation)
It is a milled, anhydrous lactose grade with a median particle size of 100μm. The coarse milled lactose grade could be used in Dry Powder Inhalation (DPI) applications where a relatively good flow with some cohesiveness is required. Its anhydrous nature makes this a unique product in DFE portfolio.
Lactohale® 300
Microfine Lactose(Inhalation)
It is a very fine micronized lactose with a D50 below 5 microns. LH300 can be utilised within a Dry powder inhalation formulation to improve the drug deposition. Improved deposition can be obtained in several ways by the introduction of fines. In addition, by blending Lactohale® 300 with selected coarse lactose grades a specific lactose blend can be developed to achieve your target product profile.

BioHale® Sucrose
Sucrose(Inhalation)

Multiple technologies for nasal and pulmonary drug delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients exist. For the design of carrier-free formulations, spray drying has emerged as the preferred technology. Spray drying can be used to modify the particle surface, shape and density. An advantage of spray drying is that excipients, like the Biohale® grades, can be incorporated to modify aerosolization and flow properties, as well as to modify the drug release.

Lactopress Anhydrous
Anhydrous lactose
A solution of lactose is rapidly dried at high temperature to form anhydrous lactose which is then milled and sieved to the required particle size distribution. Anhydrous lactose offers the best compactability of all grades of lactose, and it is well suited to direct compression applications.
Anhydrous lactose is also well suited for formulations containing moisture sensitive drugs, due to the absence of crystal water. It is the recommended form of lactose for dry granulation because its brittle nature allows re-compaction without loss of tabletability.
